About

Camp 4 Campground sits in a forested setting along the Chewuch River in the Methow Valley Ranger District of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. At 2,400 feet elevation and 18 miles north of Winthrop on paved Forest Road 51, it provides easy access to river fishing and hiking opportunities including the North Twenty Mile Trail and a nearby historic lookout. This is a primitive, lightly-used campground with vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water or trash receptacles. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all garbage. Sites are small, with a 16-foot maximum vehicle length, and trailers are not recommended due to limited maneuvering space. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature or with cash/check. Interagency Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on single site fees.
