About

Camp 4 Campground is located in a forested setting along the Chewuch River, 18 miles north of Winthrop on paved Forest Road 51. This primitive campground offers a quiet base for exploring the Methow Valley area with convenient access to river fishing and nearby hiking opportunities. The campground features small sites with picnic tables and fire pits, though facilities are basic. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on-site; campers must bring their own water or treat river water. No trash service is provided, so visitors must pack out all garbage. Due to the small site size with a 16-foot maximum length, trailers are not recommended. Recreation opportunities include fishing in the Chewuch River, access to the North Twenty Mile Trail #560, a historic lookout hike, and road biking loops on East and West Chewuch Roads. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment available via the Scan & Pay system through the Recreation.gov mobile app.
