About

Honeymoon Campground is a small, forested camp located along Eightmile Creek in the Methow Valley Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The campground takes its name from its history as the honeymoon destination of a past forest ranger and his wife. At 3,300 feet elevation, the setting offers a peaceful retreat with light visitor usage. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment is handled via Mobile Scan & Pay through the Recreation.gov app, which should be downloaded before arrival due to limited cellular service in the area. Amenities are basic: vault toilets and picnic tables are provided, but there is no potable water and no trash receptacles. Campers must filter or treat water from nearby sources and pack out all waste following Leave No Trace principles. With a maximum site length of 22 feet, the campground accommodates tents and small camping trailers but is not suitable for larger RVs. The area serves as a staging point for backcountry exploration, with the challenging Copper Glance Trail #519 nearby and the end of Eightmile Road providing access to Hidden Lakes Trail #477 and Larch Creek Trail #502, both leading deep into the Pasayten Wilderness.
