About

Nevada Beach Campground occupies a prime location on the California-Nevada state line, directly adjacent to Lake Tahoe's widest beach. At 6,100 feet elevation, the 54 campsites are shaded by tall pines with a carpet of dry needles underfoot. Sites on the outer loop away from the lake offer more privacy, while those closer to the water provide direct lake views. All parking spurs are paved and can accommodate vehicles up to 45 feet. Every site is equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, and grill. Flush toilets and drinking water are available throughout the campground. The campground is operated by Tahoe Recreation, a division of Vista Recreation, under a USFS concession. Nevada Beach itself is less than a mile long but wider than any other beach on Lake Tahoe, offering a quieter atmosphere than the more crowded west shore beaches. Swimming, sunbathing, boating, and water skiing are popular activities. Anglers target kokanee salmon and mackinaw, rainbow, and brown trout. The 2.6-mile Lam Wa Tah Trail provides scenic lakeside hiking nearby.

Directions

From Stateline, Nevada, drive north on U.S. Highway 50 approximately 3 miles to Elks Point Road. Turn west toward the lake; Nevada Beach is half a mile from the intersection at Round Hill Shopping Center.
