Emerald Bay Sp Eagle Point Campground

About
Eagle Point Campground occupies a prime location at Emerald Bay State Park, perched above the crystalline waters of Lake Tahoe's most iconic bay. The campground provides access to dramatic granite formations, dense conifer forests, and views of Fannette Island with its historic Tea House. Sites are available in Premium, Standard, and Tent Only configurations, accommodating a range of camping preferences. Each campsite includes a metal bear-resistant food locker, which must be used for all food storage day and night due to active black bear populations. The campground features restroom and shower facilities in each loop, with drinking water available throughout. Six ADA-accessible campsites are located at Lower Eagle Point with accessible restrooms nearby. Nearby attractions include Vikingsholm, a 38-room Scandinavian-style castle accessible via a steep one-mile trail, and the Rubicon Trail connecting to D.L. Bliss State Park. The campground traditionally sells out seven months in advance during peak season.
Directions
From South Lake Tahoe, take Highway 89 north approximately 9 miles. The campground entrance is located off Highway 89 on the west shore of Lake Tahoe.
