RV Village Campground at Camp Richardson Resort sits at 6,225 feet elevation on Lake Tahoe's stunning south shore, surrounded by Sierra Nevada forests and crystal-clear waters. The campground offers 98 RV sites with a mix of full hookups (water, electric, sewer) and water/electric-only sites. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and some sites have bear-proof food lockers. The resort setting distinguishes this campground from typical Forest Service facilities. A 10-minute walk along a paved bike path leads to Lake Tahoe's beach. On-site amenities include a general store with deli, bar and grill, ice cream parlor, and full-service marina with watercraft rentals. Flush toilets and hot showers are available during peak season, with a dump station also operational mid-May through mid-November. Recreational opportunities abound: swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are all accessible from the resort. Nearby attractions include Tallac Historic Site, Emerald Bay, Pope Beach, Baldwin Beach, and Fallen Leaf Lake. Note that pets are not permitted at this resort except for service animals, and a 14-day annual camping limit applies per Forest Service regulations.

Directions

Located 3 miles south of Tahoe City on California Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road). From Sacramento, take US Highway 50 to South Lake Tahoe, continue north past the intersection of US 50 and Highway 89 (the "Y"), and look for the Camp Richardson Resort sign on the right. From North Shore or Reno/Truckee, take Highway 89 or US 50 to South Shore.
