Nelson Dewey State Park Campground occupies a scenic hilltop setting 500 feet above the Mississippi River on land that once belonged to Wisconsin's first governor, Nelson Dewey. The family campground features 45 wooded and secluded individual sites, providing a peaceful retreat with both natural beauty and historical significance. Eighteen sites offer electric hookups, while four walk-in sites positioned along the bluff's edge deliver exceptional panoramic views of the Mississippi River Valley. The campground includes modern amenities with a bathhouse near site 23 providing flush toilets and hot showers. For larger gatherings, a group camping area accommodates up to 120 people across three separate electric sites, each with picnic tables, large fire rings, a shelter, vault toilets, and water access. The park's 2 miles of hiking trails wind through the property, offering additional bluff-top vistas and opportunities to explore the area's natural and cultural heritage. Located near Cassville in southwestern Wisconsin, the campground provides convenient access to the historic Stonefield Village across the highway and the Dewey homestead within the park. The small village of Cassville, approximately two miles south, offers groceries, camping supplies, and a laundromat for campers' convenience.

Located northwest of Cassville along County Highway VV, off State Highway WI-133. The park is approximately 105 miles southwest of Madison via US-151.
