Wyalusing Homestead Campground

Closed — Closed for the winter season. Water systems including faucets, flush restrooms, showers, and the dump station are turned off in late October and reopen in spring. The park remains open year-round for day use.

Homestead Campground sits within Wyalusing State Park, one of Wisconsin's oldest state parks, positioned 500 feet above the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers. This family campground is conveniently located near the park visitor center and sanitary dump station, making it an ideal base camp for exploring the park's diverse offerings. The campground shares the park's 109 regular campsites with Wisconsin Ridge Campground, with some sites featuring electric hookups. Wyalusing State Park offers 14 miles of hiking trails that wind through forests and past ancient Native American burial mounds, providing opportunities for both recreation and cultural exploration. The park is renowned for bird watching, particularly eagle viewing, and offers excellent fishing and boating access in the river backwaters. Campers can enjoy picnicking at bluff top overlooks with commanding views of the river valleys below. Homestead Campground features pit toilets and shower facilities during the operating season. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit. A swing set and slide provide entertainment for families in the center of the campground. The park's Bluff Top concession stand, operated by Friends of Wyalusing State Park, serves visitors from late May through October. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, with a limit of six people per site and one wheeled camping unit plus additional tents permitted.
