About

Perched on a 500-foot bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, Nelson Dewey State Park Group Campground offers a striking setting for organized groups visiting southwest Wisconsin. Named for the state's first governor, the park combines natural beauty with historical significance. The adjacent Stonefield Historic Site and the restored Dewey home provide educational side trips between campfire gatherings. The group camping area contains three separate sites, each able to host up to 40 people. All sites are electric and include large fire rings and picnic tables. A shelter, vault toilets, and water are available within the group camp. Groceries, camping supplies, and laundry services can be found in Cassville, roughly two miles south of the park. Reservations are made through the Wisconsin State Park System at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com. Group camping fees start at $50 per night for groups of 1-20 persons, with $20 added for each additional 10 campers, plus $20 per electric pedestal.

From Cassville, head north approximately two miles on County Road VV. The park entrance is on the west side of the road atop the bluff.
