Navajo Cliffs is a premier group day-use site situated along the scenic Sheep Creek Geological Loop in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Located just 7 miles south of Manila, Utah, at an elevation of 6,200 feet, this picturesque venue is ideal for weddings, family reunions, and large gatherings of up to 80 people. The site features shady trees lining the banks of Sheep Creek, with dramatic views of the unique Navajo sandstone cliffs that define this geologic wonder. The area provides excellent access to outdoor recreation opportunities. Sheep Creek offers quality fishing for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon, while nearby Flaming Gorge Reservoir is renowned for world-class fishing, boating, water skiing, and swimming. The Sheep Creek Geological Loop itself is a spectacular scenic drive showcasing millions of years of exposed geology. Wildlife viewing is excellent in the area, with typical summer weather bringing warm days and cool nights. Visitors should note that no potable water is available on-site; groups must bring their own water supply. The site is equipped with large picnic tables, a serving table, grills, a campfire ring with benches, vault toilets, and garbage service. The location provides a perfect base for exploring the broader Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, including the famous red cliffs, the Green River below the dam, and numerous hiking and scenic driving opportunities.

Directions

From Manila, Utah, travel 7 miles south on Highway 44 to Sheep Creek Geological Loop. The site is a short distance from Carmel Campground on Sheep Creek.
