Navajo Cliffs is a group day-use picnic site situated along the scenic Sheep Creek Geological Loop in the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Located 7 miles south of Manila, Utah, at an elevation of 6,200 feet, the site offers dramatic views of the distinctive red and cream-colored Navajo sandstone cliffs. This is not a campground; overnight camping is not permitted. The site accommodates up to 80 people with up to 10 vehicles, making it ideal for weddings, family reunions, and large gatherings. Amenities include large picnic tables, a serving table, grills, a campfire ring surrounded by benches, a vault toilet, and garbage service. Visitors must bring their own water as none is available on site. The area features full shade from trees lining Sheep Creek. Nearby Sheep Creek provides fishing opportunities for rainbow trout and kokanee salmon. Flaming Gorge Reservoir is a short drive away for boating, waterskiing, and world-class trout fishing. The adjacent Sheep Creek Geological Loop offers a scenic drive through exposed rock formations spanning millions of years.

Directions

From Manila, Utah: Travel 7 miles south on Highway 44 to Sheep Creek Geological Loop. The site is a short distance from Carmel Campground on Sheep Creek.
