About

Deep Creek Campground is a quiet retreat nestled in a lush, forested area at the northern edge of the Uinta Mountains in Ashley National Forest. Located about 15 miles south of Manila, Utah, off UT-44 and then 4 miles down Forest Road 539, the campground is flanked by the gentle waters of Carter Creek and Deep Creek, making it a popular spot for rainbow trout fishing. This primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Facilities include two vault restrooms and picnic tables, but campers should come prepared with their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. Trash service is not provided, so plan to pack out everything you bring in. The campground serves as a good base for exploring the surrounding area. The Elk Park Trail begins about 3 miles southeast and heads south into the mountains. Scenic Route FS221 northwest of the campground provides access to multiple destinations including Browne Lake, Sheep Creek Lake, Long Park Reservoir, and Spirit Lake.

Directions

From Manila, Utah, drive 15 miles south on UT-44, then turn and travel approximately 4 miles on Forest Road 539 to the campground.
