About
Jay Cooke State Park's five camper cabins provide year-round rustic accommodations in one of Minnesota's most scenic state parks. These 12-by-16-foot wooden cabins are scattered around the wooded edges of the campground, offering a balance between tent camping and traditional lodging. Each cabin sleeps up to six people on bunk beds with mattresses and includes electricity, heat, a table with benches, and a screened porch. Outside, guests will find a picnic table and fire ring with grate for cooking. The cabins serve as an excellent base for exploring the park's extensive trail system, including over 50 miles of hiking trails, 32 miles of cross-country ski trails in winter, and access to the paved Willard Munger State Trail for biking and skating. The park is famous for its dramatic St. Louis River gorge carved into ancient Thomson formation bedrock, the iconic Swinging Bridge, and the historic River Inn Interpretive Center built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing, geocaching, fishing, and paddling in warmer months, or snowshoeing and skiing in winter.
Directions
