...FIRST ROUND OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS WRAPPING UP, ANOTHER ROUND OF FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW IS EXPECTED FOR TOMORROW... .A Winter Weather Advisory for western and central Minnesota goes into effect Friday for our next wintry system. Portions of western Minnesota will see a round of freezing rain and sleet early Friday with accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch. Further north, precipitation will start out as a wintry mix before transitioning to all snow late Friday. Snowfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected with around a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation. East central Minnesota will see 2 to 4 inches of snow along with ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch. * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches, sleet accumulations between one tenth and two tenths of an inch, and ice accumulations around two tenths of an inch. * WHERE...Benton, Morrison, Stearns, Todd, Kanabec, and Mille Lacs Counties. * WHEN...From 4 PM Friday to 10 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening commute.

Mille Lacs Kathio State Park features five camper cabins that provide a comfortable year-round camping experience. Each cabin is equipped with heat and electricity, making them suitable for winter stays. Every cabin includes its own outdoor picnic table and fire ring, perfect for enjoying meals and campfires with family and friends. One cabin is designed to be ADA accessible. The cabins are situated within the Petaga Campground, which is located near the Rum River and includes access to a shower building. The park itself sits within a National Historic Landmark District and offers an interpretive center, swimming beach, 100-foot fire tower with spectacular views, and numerous trails including the Touch the Earth Trail through diverse forest habitats. The park provides year-round recreation opportunities including canoeing and kayaking on the Rum River, fishing, hiking, and winter activities like cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The cabins offer a cozy base for exploring 9,000 years of human history preserved in this significant archaeological area.

The Carolina Camper Cabins are located at various state parks in South Carolina, including Lake Hartwell, Dreher Island, Chester, Little Pee Dee, and Colleton State Parks. Access is typically via the main entrances to each respective state park, where signage will guide you to the camper cabin area. The cabins are situated close to restroom and comfort station facilities for convenience.
