About
Morgan Bar Campground is a BLM-managed recreation site located along the Salmon River, approximately 7 miles north of Salmon, Idaho. The site was formerly homesteaded by the Morgan family and retains a remnant orchard from that era. The campground offers both RV-friendly and tent campsites with magnificent eastern views of the Beaverhead Mountains.
A trail system winds around a wetland pond and follows almost a mile of the Salmon River's west bank, providing excellent opportunities for birding and wildlife viewing. The rock cliffs west of the campground are popular nesting sites for Canada geese. The campground features river access for rafting, fishing, tubing, and swimming, along with a boat ramp and group facilities.
The surrounding area offers diverse recreation opportunities including motorized and non-motorized trails, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit.
