About

Deep Creek Campground sits at 4,800 feet elevation in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, offering three primitive campsites along Deep Creek Ridge. This remote campground provides a quiet, undeveloped experience for campers seeking solitude in the Idaho backcountry. A short trail from the campground leads to Leacock Point, providing scenic views of the surrounding terrain. As a primitive site, Deep Creek has no restrooms and no potable water. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, bringing all water and supplies and packing out all trash. No hookups are available at any campground in the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The campground is free and first-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit. Access requires navigating remote forest roads west of North Fork, Idaho. The route involves approximately 42 miles of forest road travel, making this campground best suited for those comfortable with backcountry driving and primitive camping conditions.
