About
Moraine Campground is an overflow campground operated by the Inyo National Forest in the Mono Basin Scenic Area, situated along Highway 120 approximately 2.5 miles west of its junction with Highway 395 near Lee Vining. The campground features 25 rustic sites with vault toilets and bear boxes, but no potable water or electrical hookups. Located in an active bear area, all food and scented items must be stored in the provided bear boxes. The campground sits at high elevation in a shaded, forested setting with Lee Vining Creek nearby. Access and operation are subject to the seasonal closure of Highway 120 (Tioga Pass), which typically closes in November and reopens in late May or early June depending on snow conditions. Sites are $28 per night with a $9 additional vehicle fee.
