About

Boulder Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground in Inyo National Forest's Mono Basin region, accessed via Poole Power Plant Road off Highway 120 west of Lee Vining. The campground sits in a rocky, high-elevation setting typical of the eastern Sierra Nevada, with Lee Vining Creek nearby providing fishing opportunities. Like other campgrounds in the Lee Vining Canyon corridor, Boulder offers basic amenities suited to tent camping and smaller RVs. The area is known for its dramatic alpine scenery, proximity to Mono Lake, and access to Yosemite National Park's Tioga Pass entrance. Temperatures can range from the 30s at night to the 80s during summer days. The campground operates seasonally, typically from late spring through early fall, depending on snow conditions. This is an active bear area, and proper food storage is required.
