About

Boulder Campground is situated in the scenic Lee Vining Canyon along Highway 120, the eastern gateway to Yosemite National Park. Located approximately 3.5 miles west of Lee Vining on Poole Power Plant Road, this Inyo National Forest campground sits at an elevation of 7,390 feet in a forested setting near Lee Vining Creek. The campground provides primitive camping with basic amenities and no hookups. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with bear lockers likely available given the proximity to Yosemite. The location offers excellent access to fishing in Lee Vining Creek and serves as a popular overflow option when Yosemite's Tuolumne Meadows campgrounds are full during peak summer season. Operating seasonally from late spring through mid-fall, the campground typically closes for winter due to snow and weather conditions at this elevation. The area is known for its dramatic mountain scenery and serves as a convenient staging area for visitors heading into Yosemite via Tioga Pass.

Directions
