About

Ellery Lake Campground is a small, high-elevation facility located at 9,500 feet in Inyo National Forest, positioned on the eastern side of Tioga Pass just outside Yosemite National Park's east entrance. The campground's 12 sites sit along the shores of scenic Ellery Lake, surrounded by granite peaks and alpine scenery. Sites are available first-come, first-served only and fill quickly during peak summer months. The campground can accommodate some RVs up to 28 feet, though many sites do not have room for a second vehicle. Each site includes a bear-proof food storage locker (typically 48" x 30" x 36"), picnic table, and fire ring. Bear activity is common in this area, and proper food storage in the provided lockers is mandatory. Drinking water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets serve the campground. The location offers excellent access to high Sierra fishing, hiking, and rock climbing. The campground's proximity to Tioga Pass and CA Highway 120 makes it a convenient base for exploring both the eastern Sierra and Yosemite's high country. A 14-day stay limit applies.

Directions

From US Highway 395 at Lee Vining, drive west on CA Highway 120 towards Tioga Pass. The campground is located approximately 2.5 miles before the Yosemite National Park entrance, just east of Tioga Pass.
