About
Located just 3.5 miles from Yosemite National Park's eastern boundary along Highway 120 (Tioga Pass Road), Aspen Campground provides a peaceful retreat at 7,490 feet elevation. The campground is nestled in a grove of aspen trees along Lee Vining Creek, creating a scenic setting with excellent fall colors and the soothing sounds of flowing water. The area features dramatic granite canyon walls and offers access to fishing opportunities along the creek. The 45 campsites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet in length. Each site includes a bear locker, picnic table, and fire pit. Drinking water is available from hand pumps throughout the campground, and vault toilets serve all sites. Because this is active bear country, proper food storage in the provided bear lockers is mandatory. The campground's location on the eastern approach to Yosemite makes it a popular base for exploring both the park and the surrounding Inyo National Forest. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground typically experiences heavy use during the summer season due to its proximity to Yosemite and its scenic setting along Lee Vining Creek.
Directions
From Highway 395 in Lee Vining, turn west on Highway 120 (Tioga Pass Road). Continue 3.4 miles and turn left onto Poole Power Plant Road. The campground is immediately on the right.
