About

Tioga Lake Campground occupies a spectacular high alpine location at 9,700 feet elevation on the shores of Tioga Lake in Inyo National Forest. With only 13 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, this intimate campground fills quickly during the summer season. The campground sits just east of Yosemite National Park's Tioga Pass entrance, providing easy access to Tuolumne Meadows and the high country. This is active bear country, and proper food storage in the provided bear boxes is mandatory. Bear boxes measure 48 inches by 30 inches by 36 inches. The campground accommodates small RVs and short trailers only, with no hookup facilities available. Drinking water is accessible via hand pump, and vault toilets serve the campground. The location along Highway 120 (Tioga Pass Road) provides convenient access but comes with some road noise. The high elevation and alpine setting offer stunning mountain views and access to hiking, fishing, and rock climbing opportunities. Quiet hours run from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The campground operates seasonally, dependent on snow conditions and Tioga Pass Road access.

Directions

From US 395 at Lee Vining, head west on Highway 120 (Tioga Pass Road). The campground is located on the north side of the highway along Tioga Lake, approximately 11 miles west of Lee Vining.
