About

Tioga Lake Campground is a high-alpine destination in the Mono Basin region of Inyo National Forest, perched at 9,700 feet on the shores of Tioga Lake. The campground provides quick access to Yosemite National Park via the Tioga Pass entrance and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding granite peaks and alpine lakes. The 13 campsites are nestled in a stunning Sierra Nevada setting with views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Each site includes a picnic table and access to bear boxes, which are mandatory in this active bear area. Vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump are provided. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with self-registration at the campground. Due to its high elevation, the campground has a short season typically running from late May or early June through October, depending on snowpack. Access is via California Highway 120 (Tioga Road), which closes seasonally for winter. The campground accommodates small RVs and short trailers only, with no hookups available.
