About
Moore Point Campground sits on the north shore of Lake Chelan at 1,100 feet elevation within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This remote boat-in destination offers four established tent sites with ample room for dispersed camping beyond the designated areas. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground also features a picnic shelter, two vault toilets, and a fixed dock capable of holding three boats. Access is by boat only, either via personal watercraft or commercial ferry services including the Lady of the Lake and Stehekin Ferry, which make stops at Moore Point. From Chelan, the campground is approximately 42 miles up the lake, or 24 miles from the Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park boat launch. A Federal Dock Site Boat Permit is required from May 1 through October 31 for use of the dock ($10/day or $75/season), though campers arriving by ferry or hiking in without using the dock are exempt. The campground provides access to the Lakeshore Trail and serves as a launching point for day hiking and backpacking in the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. No potable water is available on site; all drinking water must be treated or filtered from nearby sources.
