About

Cascade Creek Campground is a remote, primitive hike-in campground situated along the scenic Lakeshore Trail #1247 on the north shore of Lake Chelan within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Access requires taking a boat 34 miles uplake to Prince Creek Campground and hiking north for 5 miles, or boating 42 miles to Moore Point and hiking 5.5 miles south. This lakeside location does not have a boat dock. The campground offers minimal but essential amenities: two tent sites, one picnic table, one fire ring, and a vault toilet. There is no bear-proof communal food storage locker, so visitors must bring rope to hang their food properly. Water must be treated or filtered from nearby sources. No fees are required for camping at this site. The campground sits on an alluvial fan and is located within the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness area. The Lakeshore Trail is known for being among the first trails to open in spring and last to close in fall, offering spectacular views of Lake Chelan with minimal elevation change. Due to the remote nature of this site, visitors should be prepared for backcountry camping conditions and bring all necessary supplies.

Directions

From Chelan, boat 34 miles uplake to Prince Creek Campground on the north shore, then hike north on Lakeshore Trail #1247 for 5 miles. Alternatively, boat 42 miles uplake to Moore Point Campground, hike east on Moore Point Trail #1247A for 0.5 miles, then south on Lakeshore Trail #1247 for 5.5 miles.
