About
Cascade Creek Campground is a remote backcountry campground situated along the pristine shores of Lake Chelan within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, near the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness boundary. This hike-in-only destination sits at 1,100 feet elevation and is accessible via the scenic Lakeshore Trail #1247, positioned between Prince Creek and Moore Point campgrounds. The Lady of the Lake ferry provides boat shuttle service to trailhead access points.
The campground provides a minimalist backcountry experience with two tent sites sharing a single picnic table, one fire ring, and one Wallowa-style vault toilet. There is no potable water on site; campers must filter or treat water from nearby sources. No bear-proof food storage is provided, so bring rope to properly hang food. All trash must be packed out.
This free, first-come-first-served campground requires physical overnight occupation to hold a site. Popular activities include backpacking along the Lakeshore Trail, swimming in Lake Chelan, and enjoying the solitude of this roadless area.
Directions
From Chelan, take the Lady of the Lake ferry 34 miles up lake to Prince Creek Campground on the north shore. Hike north on Lakeshore Trail #1247 for 5 miles. Alternatively, boat 42 miles up lake to Moore Point Campground, hike east on Moore Point Trail #1247A for half a mile, then south on Lakeshore Trail #1247 for 5.5 miles.
