Despite being named a "campground," overnight camping is prohibited at this site. The facility sits on the south shore adjacent to a Forest Service Guard Station. The site features a dock and boat basin capable of accommodating eleven boats, making it a popular stopping point for boaters exploring Lake Chelan. A vault toilet is available, though potable water is not provided. A quarter-mile trail connects Lucerne to nearby Refrigerator Harbor Campground and provides access to the road leading to Holden Village. Day use requires a Lake Chelan Federal Dock Site Permit from May 1 through October 31, costing $10 per day or $75 for the season. The site is popular for swimming, boating, and day hiking.
