About

Prince Creek Campground is a remote boat-in campground located on the north shore of Lake Chelan, 34 miles from Chelan. The campground borders the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness and offers a peaceful lakeside setting accessible only by personal watercraft or commercial ferry service. The Lady of the Lake and Stehekin Ferry provide passenger ferry service with stops at Prince Creek. The campground features six tent sites equipped with five fire rings and five picnic tables. A floating dock with three-boat capacity provides convenient lake access. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water; campers must treat or filter water from nearby sources. The setting is ideal for larger groups seeking a backcountry camping experience. Prince Creek serves as an important trailhead for hikers exploring the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. The Lakeshore Trail extends 17 miles from Prince Creek to Stehekin, while the Prince Creek Wilderness Trail provides access to alpine lakes and summit vistas. Wilderness regulations apply to all backcountry travel. A Lake Chelan Federal Dock Site Permit is required from May 1 through October 31 and costs $10 daily or $75 for the season.
