About

Mill Creek Campground offers a rustic camping experience in the heart of Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest. The campground features 9 total sites—8 standard units and 1 group site—set in a wooded area along scenic Mill Creek. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. A vault toilet and hand pump for drinking water are available, though campers should pack out all trash as no garbage service is provided. Located along the historic Custer Motorway, the campground provides excellent access to recreational opportunities including rainbow trout fishing in Mill Creek and motorized trails heading south toward Bayhorse Lake campground and trail system. Interpretive signs along the Custer Motorway highlight the area's rich mining history. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per night.

Directions

From Challis, head west on Main Street from Highway 93 until pavement ends. Continue on the dirt road to Custer Motorway (Road 070). Travel 8 miles from the pavement end (approximately 14 miles from Challis), then turn left into the campground entrance.
