About
Whiskey Flat Campground is a small, rustic 4-site campground tucked along the Salmon River within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Situated 26 miles northeast of Stanley on Highway 75, it offers direct access to excellent steelhead and trout fishing waters. The campground operates entirely on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations accepted. Facilities are basic: vault toilets and picnic tables at each site. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Horse and pack animals are permitted. Pets are allowed but must remain leashed. The 10-day occupancy limit within any 30-day period applies to all SNRA campgrounds within a 30-mile radius. Payment can be made on-site via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Download the app before arrival, as cellular service may be limited in this remote area.
