Challis Hot Springs is a scenic campground located on Spring Creek along the Salmon River in the geographical center of Idaho. Now operating as part of Land of the Yankee Fork State Park since May 2023, this tranquil retreat sits beneath mature trees with well-maintained grassy sites. The property features approximately 46 campsites ranging from tent sites to full hookup RV sites with 30-amp and 50-amp service. The signature feature is access to two natural geothermal hot spring pools where visitors can soak in mineral-rich waters. The campground offers modern amenities including restrooms with showers, a dump station, and WiFi. Sites are situated along the river's edge, providing a peaceful setting with shade from established trees. The location serves as an excellent base for outdoor recreation. The nearby Salmon River offers fishing, kayaking, and rafting opportunities. Hiking and biking trails wind through the surrounding Idaho wilderness, providing access to the rugged landscapes of central Idaho. The campground operates seasonally and accepts reservations through Idaho State Parks.
