About

Holman Creek Campground offers a classic Sawtooth wilderness camping experience along the scenic Salmon River corridor. Located 28 miles northeast of Stanley on Highway 75, this small campground features 10 sites, including one double site, tucked at the base of a forested rock slope. Holman Creek runs directly through the campground, adding to its appeal for anglers and nature lovers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis from June through September 15. Sites can be paid for on-site via cash, check, or the Recreation.gov mobile app's QR code scan feature where cellular service permits. Basic amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and picnic tables at each site. Horse and pack animals are permitted. The Salmon River provides exceptional fishing for trout and steelhead, and the area is popular for whitewater rafting. Stay limits are 10 days within any 30-day period for the entire SNRA within a 30-mile radius, and campsites cannot remain unattended for more than 24 hours.
