About

Cazier Cabin is a historic guard station constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933, situated in the Greys River valley near Corral Creek at 7,600 feet elevation within Bridger-Teton National Forest. The cabin offers spectacular views up the Corral Creek drainage, with pine forests sweeping up nearby mountain slopes. The two-room structure sleeps eight people on four bunkbeds with mattresses, and up to five additional guests may camp outside. The cabin is equipped with a propane cook-top, propane refrigerator, sink, dining table and chairs, and a wood stove for heat. Solar lights provide illumination. From approximately mid-June through Labor Day, amenities include indoor flush toilet, shower, and drinking water from a hand pump. During winter months, toilet facilities are outdoors (vault toilet) and guests must bring their own water. Recreation opportunities abound, with the Corral Creek Trail accessible from the cabin connecting to Corral Creek Lake and multiple drainages on the west side of the range. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, OHV riding on designated routes, trout fishing in Greys River, and cross-country skiing in winter. The remote location means the nearest town for supplies is Alpine, 46 miles north on a low-speed gravel road.

Directions

From Alpine, WY, turn south onto Greys River Road (Forest Road 10138) and travel approximately 46 miles. The cabin is on the right (west) side of the road. Alternative route from Afton: Head south on US-89 for 14 miles, turn left onto Smiths Fork Road (FS-10072), continue 23.5 miles to Tri-Basin Divide, turn north onto Greys River LaBarge Road (FS-10138) for approximately 12 miles, then turn left to access the cabin.
