About

Middle Fork Campground is located adjacent to the Cloud Peak Skyway scenic byway in Bighorn National Forest. The campground occupies a forested setting along the banks of Middle Fork of Clear Creek, with pine and aspen trees providing shade throughout the 9 campsites. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill, and the campground provides vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, and trash collection during the operating season. Nearby Tie Hack Reservoir is a non-motorized lake popular for canoeing and fishing. Anglers target rainbow, cutthroat, brown, and brook trout in the reservoir and surrounding creeks. The Circle Park Trailhead, located 3.5 miles from the campground, provides access to numerous alpine lakes and two 12,000-foot peaks within Cloud Peak Wilderness. Mountain biking is permitted on trails up to the wilderness boundary. Scenic off-road driving opportunities exist on Elgin Park, Pole Creek, and Crazy Woman Canyon Roads. South Fork Lodge, located within 10 miles, offers dining, lodging, guided horseback riding, and a small store with fishing and camping supplies. An RV dump station is available 18 miles away at Powder River Pass.
