About

Circle Park Campground is located on the east side of the scenic Cloud Peak Skyway in Bighorn National Forest, approximately 15 miles west of Buffalo, Wyoming. The campground sits at the edge of a meadow tucked within a dense forest of lodgepole pine and aspen, with widely-spaced sites offering a sense of seclusion. Each of the 10 standard nonelectric sites comes equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. The nearby Circle Park Trailhead provides direct access to the Cloud Peak Wilderness and its extensive trail network. Anglers can find rainbow, cutthroat, brown, and brook trout at Tie Hack Reservoir (non-motorized) and Meadowlark Lake. Scenic off-road driving is available on nearby Elgin Park, Pole Creek, and Crazy Woman Canyon Roads, which also allow hiking and mountain biking. High Park Lookout, a short hike east of Meadowlark Lake, offers panoramic views from an old fire lookout tower. The campground is managed by Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds and reservations can be made through Recreation.gov at least 4 days in advance. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 2 vehicles, with the second vehicle incurring an additional $9 fee. A 14-day stay limit applies, and wilderness regulations are in effect within the Cloud Peak Wilderness boundary.
