About
Mendenhall Lake Campground sits on the shore of Mendenhall Lake with stunning views of the massive Mendenhall Glacier, approximately 13 miles from downtown Juneau in the Tongass National Forest. The campground offers 69 sites with varied amenities: 9 full-service RV sites with electricity, water, and sewer hookups; 9 partial-service RV sites with electricity and water; 51 basic-service sites; and 7 walk-in backpacker sites with a covered cooking shelter. The facility can accommodate 48 camping units larger than 30 feet, making it big rig friendly. All sites meet accessibility standards and include tent pads, picnic tables, and fire grills. The campground provides two bathhouse units with flush toilets and hot showers, plus vault toilets dispersed throughout the grounds. Water faucets are available throughout the campground, and a central dump station serves RV guests. A campground host is stationed near the entrance, and garbage dumpsters are provided.
