About
Meeks Cabin Campground is located on the banks of Meeks Cabin Reservoir at an elevation of 8,700 feet in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground straddles the Utah-Wyoming border in the southwest corner of Wyoming, offering a scenic mountain setting surrounded by pine and aspen trees. The single-loop campground overlooks the 470-acre Meeks Cabin Reservoir, providing direct lake access for visitors.
The reservoir offers excellent opportunities for fishing and boating, with a boat ramp located closer to the dam. While not ideal for swimming, the lake provides ample recreation options for anglers and boaters. The campground features 24 single sites and 5 double sites, all operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular activities within 5 miles include fishing and mountain biking. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit.
The campground is seasonally operated by a concessionaire and typically accessible from late spring through early fall, with exact dates dependent on snow conditions at this high elevation. Access requires traveling Forest Road 058, which may be impassable during winter months. ATVs are not allowed on the highway unless licensed, and quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 7 AM. A 14-day stay limit applies.
