Cooper Branch No 2 Day Use Area sits on the shores of Allatoona Lake, an 11-mile long U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake on the Etowah River. Located just 35 miles north of Atlanta near Cartersville, this day-use facility provides a peaceful escape with access to various water activities including boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The rolling hills surrounding the lake are densely forested with oak, maple, blackgum, dogwood, magnolia, hickory, and pine trees. The area is home to diverse wildlife including white-tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, bobcats, foxes, and occasionally black bears. The 270 miles of shoreline offer excellent opportunities for picnicking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include downtown Cartersville's Historic District and Booth Western Art Museum (8 miles), Etowah Indian Mounds (10 miles), and Tellus Science Museum (11 miles). The facility is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers basic amenities for day use only.

From I-75 take Exit 290 (GA Hwy 20 / Canton / Rome). Northbound traffic: turn right off exit onto GA Hwy 20. Southbound traffic: turn left off exit onto GA Hwy 20. Travel 0.3 mile and turn right at traffic light (by Wendy's) onto GA Hwy Spur 20. Travel 3.5 miles and the entrance to Cooper Branch No 2 Day Use Area is on the left.
