Martinak State Park Campground
Open for the 2026 season from March 27 through November 1. The dump station is closed for replacement until further notice; campers needing dump services should use Tuckahoe State Park as an alternative.
About
Martinak State Park Campground is located two miles east of Denton on Maryland's Eastern Shore, nestled among hardwood and pine forests along the Choptank River and Watts Creek. The campground offers 59 sites split between 29 electric sites (including 50-amp service) and 30 non-electric sites, with driveway lengths accommodating equipment up to 74 feet on some sites. Several ADA-accessible sites are available. The park features modern restrooms with showers, a boat ramp and pier for water access, playground, picnic shelters, and a nature center. Hiking trails wind through the forested landscape. For those seeking more comfort, six year-round mini cabins and the Choptank Cottage provide covered lodging alternatives. Pets are welcome at campsites throughout the park. Reservations can be made up to 365 days in advance through the Maryland Park Service reservation system.
