Calvert Cliffs State Park Youth Campground provides designated camping for youth organizations along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Five group camping sites are available, each accommodating 25-45 people. Basic amenities include pit toilets, a fire ring, and one 12-foot picnic table at each site. This is tent-only camping with no hookups or water at the campsites. The campground operates seasonally from early April through late October (2026 season runs April 3 through October 24). A valid Maryland Park Service Youth Group pass is required to reserve a site, and reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Bookings are available up to 365 days ahead through parkreservations.maryland.gov or by calling 1-888-432-2267. Calvert Cliffs State Park encompasses over 1,000 acres with 13 miles of marked hiking trails leading to a quarter-mile sandy beach on the Chesapeake Bay. The park is renowned for Miocene-era fossil hunting, with over 600 species identified in the cliffs. Note that climbing on or walking beneath the cliffs is permanently prohibited due to active landslide danger. Leashed pets are allowed in the park. Day use fees apply: $5 per vehicle for Maryland residents, $7 for out-of-state.
