Markleeville Campground is a small, peaceful Forest Service campground located along Markleeville Creek in Alpine County, California. Situated at 5,500 feet elevation in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, the campground provides shade from mature Jeffrey pines and cottonwood trees. The East Fork Carson River is nearby, offering fishing opportunities.
The campground has 9 sites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and food storage locker (bear box). Vault toilets and garbage collection are provided. A California campfire permit (free from CalFire) is required for campfires, barbecues, and portable stoves.
