About

Hope Valley Campground is situated in its beautiful namesake valley at 7,300 feet elevation, surrounded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Located about 40 minutes south of Lake Tahoe in Alpine County, California, this tent and RV-friendly campground has been completely reconstructed with modern amenities. The campground features 21 campsites spread across two loops, offering both single and double-family options. Every site includes a picnic table, campfire ring with grill, food storage locker, and tent pad. Vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, and garbage service are available. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host. The West Fork Carson River runs nearby, providing excellent fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout. Numerous trails in the surrounding area offer hiking and backpacking opportunities. Black bears frequent the area, so proper food storage in the provided lockers is required. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash. A California campfire permit is required for fires.

Directions
