About

Situated at 5,890 feet elevation near the northwest entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park, the Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins provide convenient access to the park's volcanic landscapes and recreational opportunities. Built in 1972, these 20 rustic cabins are available in three configurations: one-room cabins sleeping three, two-room cabins sleeping six, and bunkhouse cabins sleeping eight. Each cabin includes firm mattresses on beds or bunks, a lockable door, propane heat, picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof food storage locker. The cabins are located within walking distance of Manzanita Lake, a popular catch-and-release fishing destination with views of Lassen Peak. The Manzanita Lake Camper Store nearby offers groceries, camping supplies, gasoline, a cafe with espresso and sandwiches, and kayak rentals. Pay showers, flush toilets, and laundry facilities are a short walk from the cabins. The Loomis Museum and ranger station are adjacent to the campground, with educational programs offered at the amphitheater. Lassen Volcanic National Park sits at the junction of the Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada, and Great Basin, creating diverse habitats for over 700 flowering plant species and 250 native animal species. The park contains 300 volcanic domes and numerous hydrothermal features including mud pots and steam vents. Manzanita Lake offers non-motorized boating, and the park features over 150 miles of hiking trails ranging from family-friendly walks to challenging backcountry routes.
