New Brighton Sb Group Camping Area

Open

Open for the 2026 season. The group camping area operates seasonally from April through November. Reservations are required through ReserveCalifornia.com.

About

Located on the west side of New Brighton State Beach Campground, the Group Camping Area provides three tent-only sites perfect for organized groups seeking a coastal camping experience. Perched on bluffs above Monterey Bay just south of Santa Cruz in Capitola, the sites offer sweeping ocean views and easy beach access. Each group site accommodates up to 25 people with up to 4 vehicles allowed. The group camping area features fire rings for campfires (must be attended at all times), picnic tables, and access to the campground's modern restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Potable water is available throughout the campground, and an RV dump station serves the larger park. The Pacific Migrations Visitor Center operates Friday through Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Firewood is available for purchase on-site through Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks. Reservations are required through ReserveCalifornia.com. Check-in is at 2pm and checkout is at noon. Dogs are permitted but must remain on leashes no longer than 6 feet and be attended at all times. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am.
