About

New Brighton State Beach Group Camping Area is situated on a scenic bluff overlooking northern Monterey Bay in Capitola, California. The facility features three group campsites nestled among Monterey pines, providing a forested setting with sweeping ocean views. The campground is part of the larger New Brighton State Beach complex, which offers over 100 total campsites including family sites and RV hookup options. The park provides direct beach access for fishing, beachcombing, and swimming during warmer months. Hiking trails wind through the forested bluffs, and a visitor center museum interprets the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Rim, with exhibits focusing on human and animal migration patterns. During summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day), the campground offers a campfire center with evening programs on Friday through Sunday. The group camping area is accessible year-round and offers modern amenities including flush restrooms and pay showers. The campground has a dump station available for a fee. Maximum RV length is 36 feet. Dogs are permitted on leash. The park entrance is open from 8am to sunset daily.
