About

Mabel Lake Campground sits on the shores of its namesake lake in the Chippewa National Forest, providing a secluded camping experience in northern Minnesota. The campground offers 22 developed campsites equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, making it suitable for both tent campers and RVs. A beautiful sandy beach provides swimming access, and a boat ramp allows easy lake access for fishing and paddling. The campground operates seasonally from late May through late September. Ten of the 21 guest sites are reservable through Recreation.gov up to six months in advance, while the remaining ten are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Vault toilets are provided, but campers must bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available. Bear safety protocols are in effect requiring all food and attractants be stored in hard-sided vehicles or locked containers when unattended.
