This is a basic USFS campground operating on a first-come-first-served basis with no advance reservations available through Recreation.gov. Potable drinking water is available from faucets throughout the campground. At $14 per night, it provides an affordable option for those seeking a quieter lakeside camping experience. Interagency Senior/Access Pass holders receive a 50% discount on campsite fees. The remote location requires navigating forest roads to access. From Deer River, travel 13 miles north on Highway 46, then turn west onto County Road 9 for six miles before heading west on Forest Road 2163 for approximately five miles to reach the campground.
