About
Located in the Gore Pass area between Kremmling and Yampa, Lynx Pass Campground offers 11 wooded campsites in a loop configuration at 8,989 feet elevation. The campground is surrounded by lodgepole pine forest, providing mostly shaded sites with a secluded, natural atmosphere. Sites accommodate tents, campers, and trailers up to 18 feet in length. Each site includes a picnic table and fire grate.
The campground serves as a base for outdoor recreation including mountain biking on Tepee Creek Trail and Morrison Divide Trail, ATV riding on narrow trails under 50 inches wide, and fishing at nearby Lagunita Lake. The area is particularly popular with big game hunters in fall. Hikers can access the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Area about 30 minutes away near Stagecoach Reservoir. Due to the high elevation, campers should expect cold evenings and cool mornings even during summer months, with snow-covered sites possible into mid-June.
