About
Lucky Peak State Park encompasses 240 acres across three distinct day-use units on Lucky Peak Lake in the foothills of southwestern Idaho. Sandy Point features a horseshoe-shaped beach popular for swimming in the reservoir's clear, cool water. Discovery Park serves as a roadside park ideal for picnicking and fishing along the shoreline. Spring Shores Marina offers boat ramps, ample parking, a full-service marina, and a convenience store for boaters and water sports enthusiasts. The park sits at an elevation of 3,055 feet on the Boise River, just 10 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bike from downtown Boise via the scenic Boise River Greenbelt. The landscape blends sagebrush communities with riparian ecosystems, creating diverse habitats that support abundant wildlife. Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, biking, and during winter months, wildlife viewing and disc golf. Lucky Peak State Park does not offer overnight camping accommodations. It is a day-use only facility. The park operates year-round, though facilities are winterized during winter months with portable restrooms available. Peak season runs from spring through fall when water-based activities are most popular.
