About

Lower Goodell Group Campground sits on the banks of Goodell Creek within Ross Lake National Recreation Area, surrounded by a lush forest canopy of western redcedar, western hemlock, and Douglas-fir. The two group sites are private and secluded, yet close to the town of Newhalem, North Cascades Visitor Center, and additional campgrounds. Each site features five individual tent areas, a covered pavilion with picnic tables for protection from rain and sun, and a fire grate for campfires. The campground accommodates both tent campers and small RVs up to 30 feet in length, with drive-in access and gravel driveways. Vault toilets and garbage/recycling service are provided, but there is no potable water on site. Campers can obtain water at the nearby Goodell Creek Campground on the south side of State Route 20. Firewood is not available in the park and gathering is prohibited; purchase firewood from local vendors before arriving. Black bears are active in this area. Bear boxes are provided at each campsite for storing food, coolers, and other attractants. Multiple recreation opportunities are nearby, including hiking trails at Newhalem Creek Campground and fishing and rafting access on the Skagit River at Goodell Creek Campground.
