About

Gorge Lake Campground is a primitive 8-site campground perched on a steep bank above Gorge Lake within the Ross Lake National Recreation Area. At 900 feet elevation, the campground experiences powerful Fraser Valley Outflow winds and offers minimally forested sites with surrounding lake views. The campground features an accessible boat launch and small dock suitable for canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and small powerboats. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and access to bear-resistant food lockers. Vault toilets are available year-round, but there is no potable water. Campers must bring their own drinking water. Sites are small and not suitable for large RVs or trailers. Maximum occupancy is 8 people, 3 tents, and 2 vehicles per site. Fishing is permitted in Gorge Lake with a valid Washington State license. Black bears are active in the area, so proper food storage is essential. Gathering firewood is prohibited. When operational, the campground is reservable via Recreation.gov from late May through early September, with first-come first-served camping available during winter months at no charge.
