About
Situated on the banks of the Cascade River in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Marble Creek Campground offers a secluded retreat in one of the most scenic areas of the northern Cascades. The campground features 23 widely spaced sites scattered beneath towering old-growth Douglas fir and cedar, with the river within walking distance. The remote setting provides a truly rustic experience with no cell phone coverage and no potable water available. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. Several trailheads for overnight backpacking are located nearby, including Hidden Lake Trail, which climbs through forest to open meadows and granite slabs before reaching Hidden Lake and its historic lookout. The area is hemmed in by designated wilderness and North Cascades National Park, offering opportunities for hikers of all experience levels. Wildlife viewing includes mountain goats, coyotes, pine marten, and various migratory birds. The campground is located approximately 8 miles up the gravel Cascade River Road from Marblemount. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings with grills, and vault toilets are available. Campers must bring their own drinking water and be prepared for primitive conditions in this remote mountain setting.
Directions
From Sedro-Woolley, take WA-20 East for 40 miles to Marblemount. Cross the Skagit River bridge and continue onto the gravel Cascade River Road for 8.6 miles to the campground.
