Lovewell State Park

Open — Currently open year-round. Walleye Point and South Willow campgrounds remain open with the Walleye Point restroom and shower building operational. Cottonwood, Cedar Point, and North Willow campgrounds are closed for the season. Southwinds, Cottonwood, and Willow shower buildings are closed for the season. Dump stations are closed for the season. Reservable campsites operate April 1 through October 31.

Lovewell State Park is a 1,160-acre park established in 1967 on the shore of Lovewell Reservoir in Jewell County, Kansas. The park offers extensive camping options across five campground areas: Walleye Point, Willow, Cedar Point, Cottonwood, and Southwinds. Campers can choose from 23 full utility sites with freeze-proof water and sewer, 13 water and electric sites, 82 electric-only sites, and over 300 primitive campsites. The park also features five rustic camping cabins, four deluxe cabins, and one yurt, all heated and cooled with electricity. The reservoir and marina are central attractions, with a full-service marina offering boat slip rentals, a restaurant, double-lane boat ramps at multiple locations, and lighted fish cleaning stations. The south shore's high bluffs help calm the waters for boating. Recreation facilities include a swimming beach at Southwinds, a seven-station archery range, disc golf course, playground, sand volleyball, basketball courts, and horseshoe pits. A historic limestone schoolhouse hosts summer church services. The park provides four shower-toilet buildings, vault toilets, and dump stations, with one unisex shower and restroom facility available year-round at the maintenance building.
