Lucas Park Campground is situated on the north shore of Wilson Lake in the Smoky Hills of north-central Kansas. Wilson Lake is renowned as the clearest lake in Kansas, making it a premier destination for boating, water skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and sailing. The lake supports excellent fishing with populations of walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, striped bass, and channel and flathead catfish. The campground offers 98 modern campsites with options ranging from tent-only sites to sites with 30-amp electric and water hookups. A group camping area provides 15 sites with hookups and a large group shelter with flush toilets. Facilities include shower houses, vault toilets throughout the campground, potable water, a dump station, boat ramp, and fishing dock. Sites accommodate RVs and trailers up to 84 feet, with pull-through options available. The area known as Post Rock Country features unique geology including thousands of miles of limestone fence posts and the spectacular Rocktown formation. The Rocktown Hiking Trail is a 3-mile loop through a 305-acre wildlife area where massive red sandstone formations rise 15-30 feet above the ground, creating the appearance of a city skyline. The nearby Bur Oak Nature Trail offers a 3/4-mile nature walk adjacent to Sylvan Park.

Directions

From Interstate 70, north of Wilson, Kansas, take exit 206 to Highway 232 north. Continue for 9 miles and follow signs to the park, located on the left.
