Water available year-round in Big Bluestem, Foxtail, Lovegrass, Wheatgrass, and Goldenrod campgrounds. Prime season rates apply April through September; off-season rates October through March.

Wilson State Park encompasses 945 acres on the south shore of Wilson Lake, a 9,000-acre reservoir in Russell County, Kansas. The park is divided into two distinct areas by the reservoir's southeastern arm: the Hell Creek area on the west side featuring a full-service marina, and the Otoe area on the east side. Both areas offer extensive camping facilities with a total of over 200 campsites ranging from primitive sites to full hookup options with water, sewer, and electric. The park features diverse recreational opportunities including the 24.5-mile Switchgrass Bike Trail popular with mountain bikers, the accessible one-mile Cedar Trail with a concrete surface, and the scenic two-mile Dakota Trail offering excellent lake views. Wilson Reservoir is known for its clear blue water and exceptional white bass and striped bass fishing. The surrounding 8,069-acre Wilson Wildlife Area provides opportunities to view deer, pheasant, waterfowl, and other wildlife among rolling native prairie hills and riparian timber. The park operates year-round with modern amenities including shower facilities in multiple areas, a full-service marina in Hell Creek, and cabin rentals. The rugged landscape along the Post Rock Scenic Byway showcases the natural beauty of the Smoky Hills region, making Wilson a popular destination for camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and wildlife watching.
