About

Sylvan Park Campground occupies a scenic position below Wilson Dam, where the Saline River exits Wilson Lake in the rolling Smoky Hills of north-central Kansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground offers 27 modern reservable sites plus an 8-site group camping area and a reservable group shelter accommodating up to 50 guests. Most sites feature 30- or 50-amp electric service and water hookups; one primitive site is also available. The campground provides full amenities including flush toilets, heated restrooms, showers, potable water, trash collection, and an RV dump station. Sites include cement picnic tables and fire rings. Pull-through sites accommodate rigs up to 112 feet. A sand volleyball court, playground, and the self-guided Bur Oak Nature Trail (0.75 miles) offer on-site recreation. Wilson Lake is known as the clearest lake in Kansas. The Saline River's high salinity supports ocean-native striped bass that grow to impressive sizes, along with walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, and catfish. A boat ramp at Sylvan Park provides direct lake access for anglers and boaters.
